It's 1985, and Caitlyn studies engineering as a way of rebelling against her father. She's low on food and doesn't have rent, and she is just going to run some drugs to try to make a quick couple of bucks.
Then a monster tries to eat her, and she takes it very personally. She learns about magic but isn't a witch. She takes on a crew of boys who are good with blades, and they call her den mother.
Alicia comes along later, carries a rifle, and misplaces her son. The boys in her den call her The Governess.
Action at a breakneck pace with just a hint of magic.
