After surviving the plague that wiped out her family and most of the warm blooded life on Earth, Ayla has spent ten years in relative solitude surviving, and against all odds, thriving.
Ayla’s world gets a whole lot bigger when she finds a fascinating new companion. Along the way she picks herself up a nemesis, a needless distraction and a new approach to life after the apocalypse.
Capable of devastating violence and deep compassion, our anti-heroine walks an almost invisible line, navigating her own morality in a world where the concept doesn’t exist anymore. An uniquely female perspective on the challenges of surviving in a world ruled by the violent and strong, this is not for the faint hearted or easily disturbed.

Writing was my first love, way back when as a child. I wrote stories, poems, even a novella. My brain buzzed with words. I even read the dictionary – I was that kid!
I continued to write as a young adult, autobiographical pieces, short stories, that sort of thing. Somewhere along the way, in the last five years, I let that go astray and I stopped writing.
My partner asked the crucial question, nearly a year ago. Why don’t I write anymore? I enjoyed it, some said I had talent. I just let it slip by the wayside.
So I started writing, short stories at first, but the idea for Dancing In The Dust came to me swiftly, and like all stories with momentum and power, it couldn’t be stopped.
I come to you with my labour of love, and hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
