Munmun Gupta is presently working as an English Language Lecturer in Binus International University in Indonesia. She has also worked as a Kindergarten Teacher in India and Indonesia. She holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature and has always been fascinated by the world of Literature.

She loves to write and deliberately tries to encourage young readers through her work. Her books ‘More Carrots for me’ and ‘The Mighty Banana’ were loved by both mothers and children as they beautifully describe the benefits of eating healthy foods.Her current book ‘The Boy who loved his Caterpillar ‘makes for an excellent read .When not writing, she spends a lot of time running after her boys Dev and Neil who inspire her to write . She continues to write more Picture Books and hopes to uplift and bring smiles to her readers through her joyful stories.

How long have you been writing? When did you decide to become an author?

I wrote my first published picture book four years ago.I have always been a word addict.Four years ago i stopped wanting to write a book,I actually wrote it.

How do you find inspiration?

I’m a mother and my children inspire me to write about the simple things in life.

How do you go about writing a book? Do you have any schedule, tricks or tips to share?

Write a book only if you have a great story to tell.

What kind of books do you read? Who is your favorite author?

I’m a word addict.I like to read all kinds of books.Dr.Seuss is my hero.uss

What are you currently working on?

I just published “The Boy who loved his Caterpillar”.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

The ability to read a mind.

Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what kind of music?


I enjoy listening to Indian classical music.

Who is your favorite villain?

The Joker

If you had to pick between receiving a million dollars today, or $1000 a month for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

$1000 for the rest of my life.
